BOC: 13 seized Discaya vehicles fetch over P114.7M
All 13 luxury vehicles seized from contractors Pacifico “Curlee” Discaya and his wife Cezarah Rowena “Sarah” have been sold after the last four remaining units were disposed of through a negotiated sale.
In a statement on Wednesday, the Bureau of Customs (BOC) said the last four vehicles generated P12.276 million in proceeds that will be remitted to the Bureau of the Treasury. These consisted of a 2022 GMC XL Yukon Denali valued at P3.209 million, a 2021 Cadillac Escalade worth P3.75 million, a 2022 Maserati Levante Modena priced at P2.008 million, and a 2022 GMC Yukon Denali worth P3.309 million.
“With the disposal of the remaining vehicles, [we have] fully disposed of all 13 seized Discaya vehicles,” the BOC said, adding that the proceeds from the sale or auction of all 13 vehicles reached over P114.7 million.
The Discayas, who figured prominently in the flood control controversy, were the owners of construction companies that were linked to millions of pesos worth of suspected anomalous government infrastructure projects.
The luxury cars, which were mostly imported, were seized for lack of proper importation documents.
