GRWM

/G-R-W-M/

Can be used as a Noun or a Verb

An acronym that stands for “Get Ready With Me”; A type of content shared by influencers or content creators where they literally “get ready” (to go out)

ORIGIN

GRWM or “Get Ready With Me” vlogs typically showcase a celebrity, influencer, or content creator doing their preparations or routines before going out, usually for work, school, or an event.

According to Garrison (2023), the first use of GRWM can be dated back to the early 2010s, thanks to YouTuber Shaaanxo. Since then, posting a casual vlog while getting ready has become popular, especially on TikTok and Instagram.

GRWM content can highlight one’s makeup or skincare routine, outfit selection, hair styling, or their everyday personal rituals.

Also, GRWM videos are usually filmed in a casual format, wherein the creator chats, shares personal stories, or answers questions while multitasking. These videos help build a sense of connection by allowing followers to see a glimpse of the creator’s daily life, making them feel included in the experience.
