Multiple raps filed vs 3 robbery suspects
Frustrated murder, direct assault, drugs and illegal possession of firearms and explosives charges have been filed against three robbery suspects who were wounded in a shootout with police officers on the North Luzon Expressway on June 26.
“They have been charged,” Philippine National Police public information chief Col. Allen Rae Co said at a press briefing in Camp Crame on Monday.
No police officers were harmed in the shootout. Seized from the suspects were suspected drugs, three hand grenades, a 9mm pistol with 11 cartridges and a .45-caliber pistol with six cartridges believed to be unregistered.
Co said the group allegedly took a self-service payment kiosk and its cash contents from a convenience store in Tanauan City, Batangas, on June 13; P700,000 in cash from another convenience store in Magalang, Pampanga, on June 22; and P378,876 in cash from another store in Victoria, Tarlac, on June 24.
