Pagcor opens 24/7 hotline for gambling addicts, kin

The Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corp. (Pagcor) has launched its round-the-clock support hotline to address the growing online gambling addiction problem among Filipinos, while the Marcos administration treads carefully on deciding the fate of the cash cow industry.

Callers may reach the National Problem Gambling Helpline (NPGH) at (02) 8248-9568 to directly connect them to trained counselors for confidential support and counseling for those experiencing gaming-related issues.

The hotline is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Pagcor Chair Alejandro Tengco said the helpline would cater to everyone struggling with problem gambling, including family members of those who are affected.
