Talk of the Town: Activism is not communism

Communism is dead but the American Cold War’s labeling and demonizing of activists as perhaps all are communist remain. I think our military are trained in this mindset. Only enemies not Filipinos capable of being transformed into a Democrat serving the poor according to the democratic norm of the society.

Activism is never about communism. It is a practice of advocating for advocacies that is for the common good. Red-tagging was so rampant during the Marcos years and recently the dark Duterte years. They thrived on this and fed it to the gullible public especially their loyal followers. It is high time Filipinos should wake up from this lie and avoid being so ignorant of the ways of a real civilized society.
