A fresh take on coastal living at Solmera

For those escaping the pace of Metro Manila, the road heading south offers an easy change of scenery.

Before long, the city gives way to waves, coconut trees and salt air, and the pull of the beach feels almost instinctive. Weekend getaways are a regular part of life, and with Batangas close enough to reach on a whim, it has long been a favored choice for a quick trip from Metro Manila.

In the familiar landscape of San Juan, another way of experiencing the destination is taking shape at Solmera Coast.

Discovering San Juan beyond Laiya

Laiya is perhaps Batangas’ most popular beach spot, with generations of visitors drawn to its shores.

Yet beyond Laiya’s more familiar stretches lie less-traveled gems, such as Barangays Subukin and Calubcub II, framed by coastal scenery, greenery, as well as views of the sea, distant hills and mountains.

This is where Quadruple A developer DMCI Homes is bringing Solmera Coast to life. Set on a 7.5-hectare beachfront estate, the development puts residents and guests in the middle of this setting–nestled among the coast, nature spots and surrounding countryside, with access to a range of aquatic activities.

A second home by the sea

It is an easy setting in which to imagine a second home by the sea. Beyond the view, much of the draw lies in having a place to retreat to whenever the city calls for a change of pace.

Solmera carries this idea into its residential offerings, which range from studios to one- and two-bedroom suites overlooking the beach and resort amenities. This condotel development takes on an Asian Tropical design, with wide overhangs, louvered panels, balconies and open air spaces that welcome natural light and sea breezes while providing shade from the tropical heat.

The comforts of a full-service condotel feel especially indulgent when the resort is also home. A leisurely afternoon by the pool, an excursion out on the water, or dinner by the coast need not be planned as an occasion.

With the amenities already part of the setting, the usual effort of getting away falls away. The days can go by more slowly, with San Juan just outside the door.

Leisure at your doorstep

One of the pleasures of having a home in a resort setting is not having to go far for a good day.

At Solmera Coast, there are plenty of ways to spend the day, whether by the pool, at the fitness center, on the basketball court, or along the beachfront.

The latter offers something not commonly found in Batangas: a paraw ride. Brought from Boracay, the traditional outrigger boat brings a unique island experience to the San Juan coast.

For slower afternoons, the Sky Deck Pool and Sky Promenade at the Matahari Building offer elevated views of the coast, while landscaped lawns, lounges, open air spaces, and planned wellness facilities create room to linger.

Food is never far from the experience either, with dining options ranging from an all-day restaurant to a specialty restaurant, lobby bar, snack bar, and food kiosks.

And because life is rarely just about weekends away, the property also makes room for celebrations and gatherings. Its function spaces, outdoor lawns, and main convention center, including a 2,000-sqm function hall and 935-sqm veranda, can accommodate intimate gatherings and larger events.

Local stops

If you venture out of your home, you’ll also find local stops that offer a taste of San Juan beyond the beach.

About 20 minutes from Solmera, Dampa ni Ka Genia is one such stop. Housed in a heritage bahay kubo lovingly preserved by the Castillo family for 56 years, the restaurant serves native Filipino dishes and family heirloom recipes featuring Batangas delicacies.

The old family home has become a destination in its own right, where visitors headed to Solmera can get a first taste of San Juan’s local flavors and traditions. It is one of the many experiences that await beyond the resort, revealing more of the locale’s character, culture, and everyday life.

On your terms

Solmera Coast is designed for people who want more from a coastal address than a place to stay. With its range of residential, leisure, dining, and event spaces, the development gives residents the flexibility to enjoy the beach on their own terms.

In a town already known for its beaches, Solmera Coast brings a new take on coastal living in San Juan.
