Agriya leads the way in farm tourism, sustainable development in Davao
Nestled in the heart of Davao Del Norte is an agri-tourism project by Damosa Land Inc. called Agriya, the first township in the Davao Region to be accredited by the Department of Tourism as a farm tourism site.
As one of Damosa Land’s flagship projects, Agriya exemplifies how to maximize the potential of nature and tourism, showcasing a revolutionary approach to harmonious living.
“The world came to a halt two months after we launched Agriya. Despite the uncertainty of the future, we turned adversity into an opportunity to learn while giving back to the community at the same time,” said Damosa Land president Ricardo F. Lagdameo.
“We are proud to have supported communities and organizations such as the frontliners in Southern Philippines Medical Center (SPMC) and young cancer patients at House of Hope with fresh produce from the urban farm,” he said.
At that time, Agriya also reached out to underserved farm communities that had limited transportation access due to the lockdown and brought their produce to the market to keep their livelihood afloat.
‘Nature-tainment’ complex
Today, Agriya is a growing community with residents already living in their houses and tourists enjoying the farm.
The cornerstone of Agriya’s allure lies in its “Nature-tainment” complex. Spanning 88 hectares, this mixed-use development for farm tourism is a haven for families seeking immersive experiences.
From farm adventures to water activities, a stroll along the banana walkway, explorations of the demo farm, visits to the packing house, and aquaculture delights, Naturetainment offers an array of activities that celebrate the region’s agricultural heritage.
Adding to its prestige as an agricultural landmark, Agriya will host the University of the Philippines Professional School for Agriculture and the Environment (UP PSAE). This esteemed institution will offer 14 graduate and post-graduate programs in various agricultural fields, reinforcing Agriya’s commitment to education and sustainable development through food security.
Healthier, balanced living
Damosa Land meticulously designed Agriya to promote healthier, balanced living. The natural surroundings serve as a sanctuary from urban stress, enhancing both physical and mental well-being. Residents and tourists can find recluse in Agriya Strip, which will host local and international brands that residents and the surrounding community can enjoy.
Ameria, the first residential subdivision in Agriya, continues to take shape. A total of 45 units have been turned over while half already have families living in their new homes, making the community thrive within the township.
At its heart, Agriya embodies a holistic lifestyle approach, seamlessly integrating nature, community, and modernity.
“The widespread appeal and success of Ameria resulted in the project selling out. Because of this, we are ready to introduce our next residential offering that will cater to the increasing demand for wide-open and themed living spaces in a township setting,” said Macy P. Bibat, Agriya project head and AVP for Township and Tourism in Damosa.
Another low-density high-end residential community is set to rise in Agriya. This future subdivision will have strategically appointed social areas where residents can enjoy a seamless blend of luxury and nature.Resilience, innovation
As Agriya continues to grow and evolve, it stands as a testament to resilience, innovation, and community spirit. Its journey reflects Damosa Land’s commitment to enhancing lives and fostering connections with nature.
With new residential offerings in the horizon and ongoing developments that blend luxury with agricultural heritage, Agriya is not just a place to live in–it’s a thriving community that nurtures dreams and cultivates a sustainable future.
As Damosa Land looks to the future, Agriya will remain a model of progress, where tradition meets modernity so that every resident and visitor can experience the best of both worlds.
