Urban living made easier at the metro’s middle ground
At the center of the most urbanized and inland metropolis in the country lies the city of Mandaluyong, offering one of the best combinations of accessibility, convenience and lifestyle.
Thanks to its strategic location, Mandaluyong stays connected to adjacent cities through major roads such as Epifanio de los Santos Avenue (Edsa), Ortigas Avenue and Shaw Boulevard. Boni Avenue and Martinez Street (C-3 Road), meanwhile, serve as alternate routes.
This accessibility is complemented by transportation options including the MRT-3; an abundance of jeepneys and buses on the main city thoroughfares; tricycles and pedicabs serving the interior roads; and the Pasig River Ferry Service.

Once a quiet suburb
For years, Mandaluyong was known largely as a quiet residential suburb, viewed simply as an extension of its more established neighbors. That began to change after the 1986 Edsa Revolution, as major capital investments gradually shifted toward the area and transformed its landscape.
In 1994, Mandaluyong was officially converted from a municipality into a highly urbanized city.

Since then, it has grown into one of the country’s most progressive economic centers, hosting major commercial developments, premium retail destinations, office towers, mixed-use communities and a thriving residential market.
This remarkable progress led Mandaluyong to be recognized as the “Tiger City of Metro Manila.”
Mandaluyong’s CBD
Ortigas Center, which serves as Mandaluyong’s central business district, further strengthened this transformation. It is currently home to some of the country’s biggest firms and multinational companies.

North of this CBD also lies a high-density commercial area featuring shopping malls, restaurants, entertainment venues and lifestyle destinations including SM Megamall, Shangri-La Plaza, The Podium.
Its conduciveness as a business destination was affirmed early on in 2013, when Mandaluyong was named the Most Business-Friendly City in the Highly Urbanized City Category by the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

Well-rounded urban lifestyle
Beyond accessibility and convenience, Mandaluyong offers a well-rounded urban lifestyle, with open public spaces, recreational facilities and healthcare institutions all within easy reach.
Residents can readily enjoy open courts, sports gymnasiums, skating rinks, bowling alleys, arcades and amusement centers, adding more options for leisure and recreation.
For growing families, the city offers access to some of the country’s top schools, making it an appealing place to raise children.

Its family-friendly environment has earlier earned recognition. Mandaluyong received two Presidential Awards for the Most Child-Friendly City in the Highly Urbanized City Category in 2011 and 2018.
As a rising business and residential hub, Mandaluyong City has indeed come a long way from being a forested and agricultural town. Today, it stands as a dynamic urban center that has carved an identity of its own in the heart of Metro Manila.
