PPL wraps up Visayas Open, sets stage for massive Cebu Open 2026

The Philippine Pickleball League (PPL) recently concluded a historic run at the PPL Visayas Open 2026 in Negros Oriental, delivering eight days of world-class racket sports action spread across two competitive weeks from July 30 to August 9.

Drawing a deep roster of top local athletes and international contenders across 42 competitive brackets, the event featured intense match play where winners took home custom medals, cash prizes, high-performance paddles, and sponsor merchandise.

The premier Open categories highlighted Week 1 (July 30 to August 2), culminating on Championship Sunday, August 2, with marquee matchups on the final day.

In the Men’s Doubles Open, the powerhouse tandem of Quang Duong and Bao Duong secured back-to-back championship titles after holding off silver medalists Nguyen Anh Gia Huy and Ho Vu Hoan, while Mikar Fisher and Phan Phuc rounded out the podium with the bronze.

The Women’s Doubles Open saw Patricia Raymundo and Medelene Saraza capture the championship over silver finishers Connie Lee and Pui Long Fan, followed by Virvienica Bejosano and Fatima Ayesha Amirul in bronze.

In the Mixed Doubles Open, international standout Ly Hoang Nam teamed up with Lien Ngo Chung to claim gold, edging out veteran Philippine tennis and racket star Johnny Arcilla and partner Patricia Raymundo, with Virvienica Bejosano and Patrick Mendoza taking bronze.

Singles action proved just as electrifying, with Si Boi Ngoc seizing the Women’s Singles Open crown ahead of Philippine tennis standout Anna Clarice Patrimonio and Virvienica Bejosano, while Pham Hoai Anh clinched the Men’s Singles Open title over runners-up Mikar Fisher and Hans Cabellon.

Week 2 (August 6 to 9) continued the momentum, showcasing intense battles across intermediate, age-bracket, and novice divisions.

Building directly on this regional success, the league now heads to the Queen City of the South for the highly anticipated PPL Cebu Open 2026.

Powered by and hosted at the state-of-the-art Ulrak Pickleball Hub in Minglanilla, Cebu, the tournament will run across two full weeks from October 8 to 11 (Week 1) and October 15 to 18 (Week 2).

The Cebu leg will feature 40 comprehensive categories ranging from junior age-groups and novice divisions to elite open and advanced team events, with an estimated 231 podium finishers expected to claim hardware.

With over 5,000 players and spectators projected to pack the venue across eight tournament days, the PPL Cebu Open 2026 stands as one of the largest competitive pickleball showcases in the country.
