The two weather disturbances being monitored by the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) are expected to leave the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR) on Wednesday.

As of 5 p.m. Tuesday, Tropical Depression “Gener” was located 235 kilometers west northwest of Baguio City, Benguet, while Tropical Storm “Pulasan” was last seen 1,980 km east of extreme northern Luzon.

Gener was expected to move westward at 30 km per hour and was forecast to be outside PAR at 2 a.m. on Wednesday, over 555 km west of Dagupan City, Pangasinan.

‘Helen’

Pagasa said Pulasan would move northwestward and would be named “Helen” once it enters PAR on Tuesday. It will remain far from land before it exits PAR on Wednesday afternoon or early evening.
