Shell Jan-Sep profit surged 33% to P1.3B

Shell Pilipinas Corp. marked a 33-percent surge in net income, reaching P1.3 billion in the first nine months this year from P983.7 million in the same period a year earlier.

The petroleum firm on Tuesday disclosed that its core income also improved by 10 percent to P2.5 billion on an increase in demand for its premium products.

The fuel company said its premium products, business-to-business and commercial accounts all delivered stronger figures during the period.

Higher volume was particularly noted in commercial fuels, aviation and lubricants, with Shell Pilipinas claiming it remained the local market’s “second-largest downstream player.”

“Our nine-month results show that our strategy is working, we are defending volumes, expanding where we hold advantage, and delivering on our commitments,” said Lorelie Quiambao Osial, president and chief executive officer of Shell Pilipinas.

“Our stronger cash generation, higher earnings and sustained improvement in gearing versus the prior year reflect a business that continues to deliver quality results even in a hypercompetitive environment,” the official said.

Osial expressed confidence that Shell Pilipinas can continue this positive trajectory.

“We enter the fourth quarter on the front foot and intend to finish the year stronger, setting a solid base for 2026,” she said.

Shell Pilipinas earlier clinched a deal with the Yanson Group of Bus Companies as the latter’s exclusive lubricant solutions provider.

The group earmarked up to P6 billion in capital spending for this year and 2026 to expand its market presence, especially by upgrading its mobility stations.

It has more than 1,000 stations servicing motorists nationwide.
