PhilWeb to power Newport’s’ online gaming platform
PhilWeb Corp. has entered into an agreement with Travellers International Hotel Group Inc. to support the latter’s online gaming platform.
This marks a push to expand its business-to-business (B2B) operations in the regulated digital gaming space.
The listed gaming technology provider told the exchange on Monday it would provide platform technology, system support, gaming content integration as well as marketing and operational services for the online gaming platform of Newport World Resorts.
As of writing, PhilWeb has not disclosed the financial terms of the agreement.
The deal covers the group’s gaming system administrator (GSA) platform, known as NWRPlay. This is subject to applicable regulatory requirements and approvals.
PhilWeb is a Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corp. (Pagcor)-accredited GSA.
The company said the agreement forms part of its ongoing initiatives to broaden its platform and content capabilities within the country’s regulated online gaming sector.
Travellers International owns and operates Newport World Resorts, an integrated development in Pasay City that combines gaming facilities with hospitality, retail and entertainment offerings.
The complex features Newport Mall, which houses a range of retail outlets and restaurants, as well as the 1,710-seat Newport Performing Arts Theater and a four-screen cinema.
The firm also hosts several international hotel brands, including Marriott Hotel Manila, Holiday Inn Express Manila Newport City, Marriott West Wing, Hilton Manila, Sheraton Manila Hotel and Hotel Okura Manila.
The property is likewise home to the Marriott Grand Ballroom, a major venue for events and conventions.
