CebGo to operate all AirSwift flights
Cebu Pacific said on Monday that its regional unit Cebgo would operate all flights operated by boutique airline AirSwift Transport Inc., effective July 1.
The Gokongwei-led budget carrier said AirSWIFT’s flight schedules and services would not be affected during the transition period.
“Flights to and from El Nido and all other AirSWIFT-operated routes will continue as scheduled,” Cebu Pacific said in an advisory.
“The transition will not affect existing flight schedules, timings or aircraft assignment, ensuring operational stability,” the firm added.
With this consolidation, AirSWIFT flights will use DG instead of T6 as their flight code since these will be operated by Cebgo, although flight details will remain the same.
These changes will be reflected in future airport and flight announcements, as well as airport displays, newly generated itinerary receipts and sales invoices for flights booked July 1 onwards
Cebu Pacific announced the integration of AirSWIFT flights into Cebgo operations following a P1.75-billion deal to acquire AirSWIFT from Ayala Land Inc. subsidiary ALI Capital Corp.
AirSWIFT operates flights between Clark and El Nido in northern Palawan, and between El Nido and other major tourist destinations, such as Boracay, Bohol, Cebu and Coron.
Meanwhile, its parent firm Cebu Pacific has a fleet of 102 aircraft, operating 35 domestic and 25 international destinations.
Cebu Pacific flew over 12.2 million passengers in the January to May period, a 4.6 percent increase from the same period last year.
The airline carried 2.4 million passengers in May alone, down 1.3 percent, amid a softer economic environment.
