BIZ BUZZ: Globe goes all in on AI

Jordeene B. Lagare

Globe Telecom Inc. is stepping up its digitalization efforts with the establishment of an Intelligence and Trust Office (ITO)to support its long-term agenda of becoming a secure, artificial intelligence (AI)-enabled and data-driven company.

Through the newly established office, the Ayala-led telco giant will consolidate key transformation and trust-enabling groups under a more integrated strategic structure.

The ITO will bring together Globe’s Artificial Intelligence Group, The Data Group, Information Security and Data Privacy, and Digital Policy Office.

Anton Reynaldo Bonifacio, Globe chief artificial intelligence officer and chief information security officer, will spearhead the ITO and assume the role of chief intelligence and trust officer effective June 15.

This “will help strengthen Globe’s enterprise-wide AI, data, cybersecurity, and digital trust capabilities to support the organization’s long-term transformation ambitions,” the listed firm said in a disclosure on Monday.
