BIZ BUZZ: UA&P debuts in Cebu

Emmanuel John Abris

Ortigas-based University of Asia and the Pacific (UA&P) has planted its flag in Cebu.

The new center sits inside the Latitude Corporate Center at Cebu Business Park, putting UA&P within arm’s reach of the region’s movers—corporate leaders, entrepreneurs and institutions. Translation: Less classroom theory, more boardroom reality.

Property developer Cebu Landmasters Inc., led by the Soberano family, provided the venue and backed the development of this facility. It’s a partnership that blends bricks with brains—and keeps expansion capital-light.

Board chair Jose Cuisia Jr. described it as a hub for “meaningful learning” and leadership formation—aimed at executives navigating an increasingly complex business landscape.

The Cebu facility will roll out short, high-impact certificate courses covering business, marketing, economics and law. The pitch: practical, real-world applications in strategy, governance and regulatory environments—no fluff, just usable insights.

With Cebu’s continued rise, UA&P’s expansion signals a shift: Talent development is no longer Manila-centric. And for institutions eyeing growth, the Visayas may just be the next classroom.
