DigiPlus joins Brazil’s ‘responsible gaming’ group

DigiPlus Interactive Corp. has joined the Brazilian Institute for Responsible Gaming (IBJR), marking another step in its expansion in Latin America’s largest regulated betting market.

In a statement, IBJR said the digital entertainment platform led by tycoon Eusebio Tanco has become the newest member of the industry group, which represents more than 60 percent of Brazil’s regulated betting market and brings together some of the world’s largest licensed betting operators.

DigiPlus, which operates BingoPlus, ArenaPlus and GameZone in the Philippines, said joining the IBJR would allow it to work with other licensed operators in promoting responsible gaming and supporting efforts to curb illegal betting in Brazil.

The company has already established a presence in Brazil through its BingoPlus brand as part of its international expansion strategy.

“Joining the IBJR reflects DigiPlus’ expansion in Brazil, where we already operate the BingoPlus brand and continue to invest in strengthening our presence,” said Graham Tidey, DigiPlus general manager for Brazil.

Tidey added that the company aims to replicate in Brazil the success it achieved in the Philippines while complying with the country’s regulatory framework.

IBJR CEO Carlos Lima welcomed DigiPlus’ entry, describing the Philippine company as a leading player in interactive gaming and sports entertainment in Asia.

“The company’s entry demonstrates the maturity of the sector and reinforces its commitment to regulation and the firm fight against the illegal betting market,” Lima said.

Founded in 2023, the IBJR advocates for a regulated online betting industry in Brazil, with its work centered on promoting responsible gaming and combating illegal gambling operations.

The organization’s members include major global operators such as bet365, BetMGM, Betsson Group, Flutter Brazil, Kaizen Gaming, Entain and Novibet.

DigiPlus said membership in the institute would strengthen collaboration among licensed operators in building a safe, transparent and sustainable betting ecosystem in Brazil.
