EY expands Cebu footprint
A member unit of global professional services network Ernst & Young (EY) has opened an artificial intelligence (AI)-powered cybersecurity center in Cebu that will support not only its Philippine operations but also its global cyber network.
In a statement on Wednesday, EY Global Delivery Services (EY GDS) said the new cybersecurity center will provide AI-driven threat detection, incident response and managed cybersecurity services for clients worldwide.
“The Philippines continues to be a strategic growth driver for EY GDS cybersecurity,” said Vinod Jayaprakash, EY GDS cybersecurity leader. “This expansion enhances our ability to help clients navigate increasingly complex threat landscapes.”
EY GDS said the Cebu facility is part of its shift toward AI-enabled security operations centers, where cybersecurity analysts are supported by automated workflows and intelligent decision-support systems to improve threat detection and speed up incident response.
Beyond cybersecurity operations, the Cebu facility is also expected to strengthen the Philippines’ role as a delivery hub for higher-value digital services.
According to EY, the center will support the development of local talent in areas such as threat intelligence, cybersecurity engineering and AI-driven cyber analytics, and allow Philippine-based professionals to work on cybersecurity operations supporting global clients.
