Licenses secured, DigiPlus enters South Africa
DigiPlus Interactive Corp. has secured regulatory approval to operate in South Africa, another key step in its overseas expansion strategy.
The digital entertainment platform led by tycoon Eusebio Tanco disclosed on Thursday that it had obtained licenses from the Western Cape Gambling and Racing Board (WCGRB).
This enables DigiPlus to enter South Africa’s largest online gaming market.
The approvals cover three operator licenses: a national manufacturer license, a bookmaker license and a bookmaker premises license. These allow DigiPlus to run various gaming operations.
The WCGRB accounts for about 31 percent of South Africa’s online gaming revenues, making it a strategic entry point for international operators.
The broader South African gaming market generated an estimated $4.9 billion in revenues in 2025, highlighting its strong growth potential.
Second outing
DigiPlus said the expansion will be its second international venture after Brazil, where it aims to begin full commercial operations within the first half of 2026.
Known for platforms such as BingoPlus, ArenaPlus and GameZone, DigiPlus is ramping up efforts to scale its digital entertainment footprint abroad.
South Africa’s transparent regulatory framework and digital readiness were cited as key factors in the company’s decision to expand into the market.
DigiPlus said the move aligns with its long-term strategy to tap high-growth international markets while strengthening its position in the global gaming industry.
