Strong sales of solar-ready homes seen

Demand for affordable solar power-ready homes is rising in the Philippines, a market where consumers are burdened with one of the highest electricity rates in Asia.
Cebu Landmasters Inc. (CLI), a property developer focused on the Visayas and Mindanao region, has debuted into solar-integrated economic housing in General Santos and was amply rewarded for it.
In just three days from launch, CLI recorded P4.3 billion in reservation sales from its latest development called Casa MiraHomes GenSan. This means 85 percent or 1,034 units at the 21-hectare master-planned project have been taken up by the market, CLI disclosed to the Philippine Stock Exchange on Friday.
“We’re truly grateful for how warmly the GenSan market has embraced this sustainable concept,” said Jose Soberano III, CLI chair and CEO of Cebu Landmasters.
“It reflects how today’s Filipino families are becoming more mindful, not just about owning a home, but about making smarter, greener choices that benefit both their finances and the environment. Casa Mira Homes GenSan captures our vision of giving more to Filipino families by making sustainability affordable and accessible at the community level,” he added.
Casa Mira is CLI’s flagship housing brand. The GenSan project, located in Barangay Lagao, is the 18th project of the brand, but it is the first to offer solar integration.
Casa Mira GenSan offers 1,218 single-detached units and townhouses, described by CLI as “thoughtfully designed with large windows for natural light, water-saving fixtures and household rainwater storage tanks.”
Flexible lot sizes cater to diverse needs, with single-detached homes ranging from 48 to 80 square meters (sq m) and townhouses from 46 to 55 sqm.
