TE Connectivity opens expansion plant
American Irish electronics firm TE Connectivity has inaugurated an expanded manufacturing facility at the First Philippine Industrial Park (FPIP) Special Economic Zone in Santo Tomas, Batangas, bringing its total investment in the country to about P4 billion.
TE Connectivity is a global leader in connectors and cables for digital data networks.
Its newly opened Plant 2 will focus on the research, development and production of electronic connectors and interconnection devices, which are core components used in modern digital infrastructure.
This expansion is expected to generate about 600 new jobs, in addition to TE Connectivity’s existing workforce of about 500 employees in the Philippines, according to the Philippine Economic Zone Authority (Peza).
“This newest investment further strengthens FPIP’s reputation as an emerging hub for advanced manufacturing in South Luzon, while reaffirming Peza ecozones as prime destinations for world-class, innovation-driven, and future-ready industries,” the agency said in a statement on Tuesday.
The facility was inaugurated on Jan. 6 in a ceremony attended by Peza Deputy Director General for Policy and Planning Anidelle Joy Alguso, Trade Undersecretary Ceferino Rodolfo and executives of TE Connectivity.
It is expected to boost Peza’s manufacturing base, which remains its leading investment industry, accounting for P150.52 billion of total approved projects in 2025, or 57.69 percent of the total.
This project also builds on TE Connectivity’s earlier investment commitments with Peza.
