The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) will launch a new digital platform called Kaagapay Donations Portal on Feb. 18 for its donation processes.
The DSWD said on Friday that donors can utilize the platform to send their cash or in-kind donations for disaster operations either to DSWD centers or residential care facilities (CRCFs). According to DSWD spokesperson Assistant Secretary Irene Dumlao, the website will facilitate real-time donations.
“Through the portal, donors will have the option to choose if they want to donate through online payment gateways or via logistics partners to personally deliver their in-kind donations to our CRCFs,” Dumlao’s statement reads.
The agency also said the website would link donations to DSWD-licensed and registered social welfare and development agencies and to local government units responsible for bringing “The contact details of local governments affected by disasters will be published on the website for more efficient donations coordination,” Dumlao said.
The DSWD noted that the launch of the portal will be part of the agency’s 74th anniversary celebration on Feb. 18.
