John Hay gives SC land to house Justice Hall, courts

BAGUIO CITY—The Supreme Court is set to relocate all local courts from the Baguio Justice Hall to Camp John Hay, continuing plans that were initiated before the COVID-19 pandemic struck.

In a statement on Jan. 30, the Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) announced that it had signed a usufruct agreement with the High Court on Jan. 14, granting the use of a 10,000-square-meter lot for a new Hall of Justice.

The BCDA said the SC aims to build a centralized, purpose-built judicial complex to improve court efficiency and bring justice services closer to communities.
