Mayors nationwide back DILG ban on e-gambling

The League of Cities of the Philippines (LCP) and Metro Manila Council (MMC) back the order of the Department of the Interior and Local Government’s (DILG), which prohibits online gambling for all DILG personnel, as well as local government officials and employees.

“Whether it’s online gambling or physical gambling, it destroys lives and families.

As public servants, we need to be good examples to our constituents,” LCP and MMC president and San Juan City Mayor Francis Zamora said in a dzMM interview on Wednesday.

The LCP is comprised of the mayors of 149 cities nationwide, while the MMC is composed of the mayors of the 16 cities and one municipality in Metro Manila.
